Janice began her training as a play therapist in 2007, after a career in social work, which culminated in working as a Family Court Advisor. Janice and Angie set up Toucan for Children in 2010.

As well as working therapeutically with children, Janice is qualifying to become a clinical supervisor for other play therapists. She also manages the day to day running of Toucan.

Angie Beard

Angie began her training as a play therapist in 2009, after a career as a Probation Officer working primarily with young offenders and as a Family Court Advisor. She joined Janice at Toucan for Children on a full-time basis in 2011 and is now qualifying to become a clinical supervisor. Like Janice, she works therapeutically with children and also manages the day to day running of Toucan.

Ian Broady

Ian has many years’ experience of working with children in the need in the community. Before he started his training as a play therapist in 2011, he worked as a community family worker in Sure Start Children’s Centres. He has worked at Toucan for Children as a play therapist since 2012 and is now training as a Filial Therapist to complement the work he does with children.
